Job Description

LBE, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Drafting Technician in our quickly growing Architectural and Engineering firm. The candidate should have experience with design, detailing, and other relevant documentation. Our projects include new construction and renovation projects across federal, commercial, and industrial business sectors.

Our ideal candidate is someone who has a high level of motivation looking for upward movement at an accelerated pace. The candidate would begin their career as a drafting technician with the opportunity to move into a BIM Coordinator position after demonstrating the skills and personal qualities required to be successful in that role.


Drafting Technician Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist and support production efforts as needed – from initial design through construction documents; primarily using Autodesk Revit as well as AutoCAD
  • Conduct drafting-based quality control reviews at major project milestones
  • BIM content creation including Revit families, templates, procedural documents, and others as directed
  • Perform other assigned duties as deemed necessary by supervisor/mentor

BIM Coordinator Responsibilities Include:

In addition to the above drafting technician responsibilities, following initial skills development, the candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and maintain internal and external drafting and BIM-related documents for education and standard enforcement
  • Establish and implement standards, processes, procedures, and workflows
  • Provide BIM support and technical assistance to team members

Minimum Qualifications 

-Associate degree in engineering, architecture, drafting, or related field;

-Experience in AutoCAD and Revit;

-Analytic and problem-solving skills;

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;

-Ability to prioritize and execute tasks accurately, effectively, and confidently;

-Effective verbal and written communication skills;

-Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills;

-Ability to work independently, conduct self-guided research and training, and take a leadership approach on subjects within areas of expertise.

Desired Experience 

-2 years’ experience working for an Architectural/Engineering firm or related field;

-In-depth working knowledge of Revit and BIM processes including project setup, Architectural and MEP development, creating families, and manipulating parameters;

-Fundamental understanding of MEP design and structural aspects of Revit;

-Experience working on federal projects with knowledge of the UFC And UFGS

-Understanding of typical AEC, NCS, or AIA drafting and drawing standards
